Accused in Salman Khan firing case dies after suicide attempt

One of the accused in firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's house attempted suicide in police custody on Wednesday. He was rushed to a hospital but died while receiving medical treatment.

The man, identified as 32-year-old Anuj Thapan, was accused of providing weapons to two shooters who fired shots outside Salman Khan's house in Mumbai.

According to the police, Thapan tried to end his life in custody. After the incident, Thapan was rushed to Mumbai's GT Hospital where his condition remained critical. Shortly after, he died.

Thapan was arrested by the Mumbai Police along with another accused, Sonu Subhash Chander (37), from Punjab on April 25.

Notably, two unidentified bike-borne men fired four rounds outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's house in Mumbai's Bandra area on April 14..
