Rishabh gets NCA nod, set to make comeback

Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant is all set to make his return to the field. He has got the match-ready fitness certificate from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru ahead of the IPL 2024 season.

Pant, who has been out of action since his car accident in December 2022, got the certificate last week, told NCA sources. The 26-year-old is now expected and will be lining up for the Capitals after missing last year's campaign.

Pant is currently doing a few shoots for the promotional campaign of the tournament and will be in Delhi for a few days. He would then fly off to Vizag to join the camp ahead of the start of the IPL 2024 season for DC.

Meanwhile, DC sources said that team doesn't want to put pressure on Pant, keeping his international career in mind. It is expected that Pant wouldn't be in the side as wicketkeeper-batter.

The Capitals will start their campaign against Punjab Kings on March 23 in Mohali. After this, they will be heading off to Jaipur to take on Rajasthan Royals on March 28. Delhi's home matches during the first phase of the IPL will be in Vizag, against CSK on March 31 and KKR on April 3.
