Actor Aamir Khan introduced his live-in partner, Gaur Spratt, to the media on Thursday. He also shared his thoughts on getting married to her at 60, and how he's been preparing her to deal with the 'media madness'.
When asked if he was thinking about marrying for the third time, Khan laughed and said there are no plans right now, but one shall never say never. "See, we are fully committed. And I have been married twice. Par ab 60 saal ki umar mein shaadi shayad mujhe shobha nahi degi (Now getting married at 60 wouldn't suit me). But let's see."
Khan told the media that he was comfortable talking about their relationship, and chuckled that he wouldn't mind if they wanted to join them over coffee. "We are committed now, and we felt we were secure enough in each other to tell you guys. And this is better, I won't have to hide things now. Tomorrow, if I go for a coffee with her, you guys can join us, too," he said.
However, the actor revealed that Spratt has led a very private life until now, and he's been mindful of protecting her privacy. He said he understands the bit of attention that she will have to endure now, but he has made security arrangements to help her. "I was looking for someone who I can be calm with, who gives me peace. And there she was.
Khan and Spratt have been friends for over 25 years. The superstar shared that they reconnected after losing touch for two years, and that's when they thought of being involved romantically.
While Aamir Khan is a father of three from his previous two marriages, Spratt has a six-year-old boy. A half-Tamilian and half-Irish, she is from Bengaluru and is currently working at Aamir Khan Productions.
