Apollo Tyres named new sponsor for Indian cricket team

Apollo Tyres has been announced as the new jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team, securing the rights until 2027. The deal comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) terminated its contract with Dream11, following a ban on betting-related applications.

Apollo Tyres will pay Rs 4.5 crore per match to the BCCI, surpassing Dream11’s earlier contribution of Rs 4 crore. The partnership is set to provide the tyre manufacturer with significant global visibility, given India’s packed international cricket calendar, while also marking one of the most lucrative sponsorship agreements in Indian cricket in recent years.

The Indian men’s team currently has no sponsor in the ongoing Asia Cup, while the women’s team is also without a sponsor in the three-match ODI series against Australia.

It isn't yet known if the Indian men's cricket team will get new jerseys with Apollo's name on it in the middle of the Asia Cup tournament. However, the Indian women's cricket team is likely to play with the new Apollo Tyres jerseys in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The Indian men’s team made a strong start to their Asia Cup campaign with back-to-back wins over the UAE and Pakistan, and will next face Oman on September 19. Meanwhile, the women’s team opened with a loss to world champions Australia in Mullanpur and will look to bounce back in the second game on September 17.
