The Indian cricket team will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 58 crore for winning the Champions Trophy 2025, BCCI announced in a statement on Thursday. Led by Rohit Sharma, India won all their matches in the marquee tournament to become the champions for the third time in their history.
India proved to be the most dominant side of the ICC tournament winning four matches en route to the final. After starting their Group A campaign with an impressive six-wicket win over Bangladesh, India outclassed Pakistan by six wickets to qualify for the final.
They topped their group beating New Zealand by 44 runs and set up a date with former winners Australia. In the last-four clash, India defeated Australia by four wickets before locking horns with New Zealand in the final.
“Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognises Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage," BCCI president Roger Binny said in a statement. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia praised the performances of both the cricketers and the support staff. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said the victorious campaign will inspire the budding cricketers across India.
