Diljit Dosanjh breaks silence on Sardaar Ji 3 row

Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh opened up about the ongoing controversy surrounding his upcoming film, 'Sardaar Ji 3' over the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. In a recent interview with BBC Asian Network, the actor revealed that the film was shot in February, much before the barbaric Pahalgam attack and the conflict between India and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Mika Singh didn't hold back his resentment over Diljit Dosanjh's decision to release Sardaar Ji 3. He called Diljit a "fake singer."

Diljit Dosanjh, in the interview, further added that a lot of things happened beyond their control and now, the situation is not in their hands. He said, "Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in February and then everything was fine. "Uske baad, bahut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi. (After that a lot of things happened, which are beyond our control. The producer decided that the film would not be released in India, so they could release it overseas. They have invested a lot of money, and when the film was being made, nothing like this was happening)," he explained.

After the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people, film associations banned collaboration with Pakistani artists. On June 23, Diljit released the trailer of 'Sardaar Ji 3' featuring Pakistani actor Hanir Aamir and others. This caused a widespread backlash. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) called for a ban on Diljit Dosanjh, the producer and director. The association also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cease their passports and cancel their citizenship for their "anti-national' act. The film is slated to release abroad on June 27.

Milka raps Diljit

Meanwhile, Mika Singh didn't hold back his resentment over Diljit Dosanjh's decision to release Sardaar Ji 3. Mika, in an Instagram Story, called Diljit a "fake singer" without taking his name. However, he shared a collage picture featuring himself and Diljit, making his attack evident for the singer through his post.

Mika Singh wrote, "Desh Pehle (Nation first). Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn't going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice, especially when our nation's dignity is involved".

“What's more shocking is that a fake singer, after doing 10 shows in India with thousands of fans buying tickets, had now disappeared - leaving fans betrayed and helpless." Mika was referring to Diljit's successful Dil-Luminati world tour. Diljit Dosanjh hasn't responded to Mika Singh's attack yet.
