Govinda And Sunita Ahuja Not Getting Divorced: Lawyer

Govinda’s lawyer has finally addressed the media and put all speculation about Govinda and Sunita Ahuja's divorce to rest.

Lalit Bindra, Govinda’s lawyer, reacted to the divorce rumours while speaking to NDTV. Lalit shared, “Koi case nahi sab settle ho raha hai ye sab log purani cheezen utha ke daal rahe hain (There is no case, everything is being settled, people are just bringing up old matters)."

He added, “Abhi Ganesh Chaturthi aayega, aapko sab saath mein nazar aayenge, aap ghar aaiyega (This Ganesh Chaturthi, you will see everyone together, you should come home)."

For the unversed, a report by Hauterrfly claimed that Sunita Ahuja has filed a divorce petition against Govinda in Bandra Family Court, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955. The petition, filed in December 2024, claims that Govinda has repeatedly skipped hearings and even failed to attend court-mandated counselling sessions. Sunita, however, has been present at every hearing.

This is not the first time that divorce speculations have surrounded this Bollywood couple. In February this year, several media reports claimed that Govinda and Sunita Ahuja had decided to part ways owing to constant disagreements and varied lifestyles. It was also said that Govinda’s growing closeness to a 30-year-old Marathi actress is reportedly a major factor in their alleged split.

Later, their lawyer stated that even though the couple had filed for divorce six months back, they were getting back together. Lalit Bindal, who is also the actor’s family friend, shared that Govinda and Sunita are “going strong" and that they will always be together.

Recently, Govinda made his first public appearance amid the speculation. The actor seemed unaffected as he blew kisses to fans. Govinda and Sunita’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, also shared her first post amid the speculation. She also seemed unfazed, like her father. While daughter Tina shared that she was in Punjab for work, son Yashvardhan shared that he recently did a pooja at home.
