Kapil Sharma reacts on 'Insulting' Atlee
Kapil Sharma denied insulting Atlee and urged people to watch the interaction and judge for themselves. He wrote, guys watch and decide by yourself, don’t follow anybody’s tweet like a sheep.
Filmmaker Atlee Kumar recently appeared in ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ to promote his latest production venture, Baby John. His appearance in a recent episode of the show sparked controversy after a section of social media users criticized Kapil Sharma’s question about Atlee’s look. After facing severe backlash on social media, Kapil Sharma has finally reacted to the accusations. He denied insulting Atlee and urged people to watch the interaction and judge for themselves.
Kapil Sharma reacted to a social media user’s post on X (previously Twitter), which read, “Kapil Sharma subtly insults Atlee’s looks? Atlee responds like a boss: Don’t judge by appearance, judge by the heart. #Atlee #KapilSharma." The social media user also shared the video of Atlee’s interaction with Kapil Sharma on the show. Responding strongly, Kapil Sharma wrote, “Dear sir, can you pls explain to me where and when I talked about looks in this video? Pls don’t spread hate on social media thank you. (guys watch and decide by yourself, don’t follow anybody’s tweet like a sheep)."
The video from The Great Indian Kapil Show features Atlee in a conversation with the comedian. Kapil asks the filmmaker, “Atlee sir, actually you are so young. Aur aap itne bade producer, director ban gaye hain. Kabhi aapke saath aisa hua hai ki aap kisi star se milne gaye first time aur usko laga hi naa ho aap Atlee ho. Usne kaha ‘where is Atlee?’ (You have become such a huge producer and director. Has it ever happened that you went to meet a star for the first time, and he didn’t recognize you?)"
In response, Atlee said, “In a way, I understood your question. I’ll try to answer. I’m actually very thankful to AR Murugadoss sir. Because he produced my first film, he asked for a script, but he didn’t see how I’m looking, and whether I’m capable of it or not. But he loved my narration. I think the world should see that. By appearance, we should not judge, by heart you have to judge."
Baby John actors Varun Dhawan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Keerthy Suresh also joined Atlee in the last episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show session 2.
Atlee made his directorial debut with the 2013 Tamil film ‘Raja Rani’, which stars Arya, Jai, Nayanthara and Nazriya Nazim. The film was produced by AR Murugadoss. Atlee then went on to direct other films such as ‘Theri’, ‘Mersal’, ‘Bigil’, ‘Jawan’.
