Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has returned to Tihar jail today as his interim bail in a corruption case linked to the Delhi liquor policy ends. He visited Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at Rajghat and the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place ahead of his surrender to Tihar Jail authorities.

Arvind Kejriwal Returned To Tihar Jail

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has returned to Tihar jail today as his interim bail in a corruption case linked to the Delhi liquor policy ends. He visited Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at Rajghat and the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place ahead of his surrender to Tihar Jail authorities. 

The AAP supremo left his residence around 3 pm and reached at Tihar jail at around 5 pm as his three-week interim bail ended on June 1. He entered into jail from gate no-1. A Delhi court put off till June 5 its order on Kejriwal's plea seeking interim bail on medical grounds.

The Delhi Chief Minister said he was grateful to the Supreme Court for granting him a 21-day interim bail for campaigning in the Lok Sabha polls.

Tihar sources said Kejriwal has lodged at Jail number 2. As per the jail rules, a prisoner has to surrender before the authorities before sunset.

Before his surrender, Kejriwal on Saturday held a meeting of the AAP's political affairs committee at his residence before attending a meeting of the opposition INDIA bloc. During the meeting at the Chief Minister's residence, Kejriwal stressed the need to maintain unity among AAP leaders in his absence, a news agency quoted sources.
