Now Khalistanis Target Canadians, Termed Them 'Invaders'

The Khalistanis in Canada have done it again. After badmouthing India and blaming the country for their woes, they have found a new opponent — Canadians themselves.

In a brazen act of entitlement, the Khalistan sympathisers termed Canadians “invaders" and asked them to “go back to England and Europe", a viral two-minute video of a ‘Nagar Kirtan’ in the country showed. “This is Canada, our own country. You [Canadians] go back," the procession can be heard saying.

Indian intelligence sources termed the incident the “new normal" in Canada, saying Khalistanis were slowly “capturing" all aspects of the country. “In the absence of proper surveillance, these groups are taking over control from local Canadians too. Hindus are being asked money for protection and now, there is a threat to locals in their colonies."

Ties between India and Canada deteriorated over last year’s assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani sympathiser labelled a terrorist by India. Both countries expelled each other’s top diplomats after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that Canadian police were investigating allegations of Indian agents’ — and the Indian government’s — direct involvement in the June 2023 killing.

Indian intelligence and government agencies, meanwhile, are of the view that Trudeau is backing Khalistani groups to ensure MP Jagmeet Singh’s support in next year’s election, given that the former has slid in popularity rankings and is struggling to keep his government together, especially since he admitted that his allegations against India were only intelligence inputs and he had “no concrete evidence".
