Man Attempts Self-Immolation In Front Of Parliament

 A person attempted self-immolation in front of the new Parliament building, officials said on Wednesday.

The police personnel present on the spot doused the fire and rushed the man to the hospital. Police officials found petrol at the scene and further inspections are underway.

According to sources, the man, identified as Jitendra hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Bagpat, set himself on fire in the park that is in front of the Parliament and then charged towards the main gate.

He sustained 90 percent burn injuries and has been admitted to RML Hospital in the city. He is said to be in ‘very critical’ condition. The person used a petrol-like substance to self-immolate.

The police said in a statement that the matter could be a case of personal enmity. The issue as we can decipher is probably related and personal enmity in Bagpat. Further investigation is on.
