there was a time when Danisha Koirala seriously considered quitting Bollywood altogether because she was “bored of it." Then Dimple Kapadia came forward to give her ‘great’ advice.
Manisha Koirala is back in action. After a lengthy break following her cancer diagnosis in 2012, the actress has returned to the spotlight with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series, Heeramandi. She was once one of Bollywood’s most sought-after leading ladies, but after her health scare, she stepped away from the industry. In 2015, she made her comeback with Chehere.
But there was a time when she seriously considered quitting Bollywood altogether because she was “bored of it." Then Dimple Kapadia came forward to give her ‘great’ advice.
Manisha Koirala recently remembered a time when she was tired of acting and asked Dimple Kapadia for advice. She told Dimple she was “bored of acting". She said, “I remember having this conversation with Dimple ji. We were shooting for a film. I told her, ‘I am bored of acting’. And she said, ‘You better enjoy it because this is not going to last forever.’ And she gave me such a great advice. But, at that point in time, I was like, ‘Yeh kya keh rahi hai? (What is she even saying?) Can’t she understand I am bored?’ My inner conversation was different."
Manisha Koirala explained that she became tired of the constant work, which led her to ask Dimple Kapadia for advice. She recalled, “There was so much of work that I was doing. There were so many films that I was doing… every morning I would get up and sit for two-three hours for makeup, and work in three different shifts for three different films. We were working for at least 15 hours a day. There were no offs on Sundays. The concept of six days of working didn’t exist then. You were expected to work 360 days in a year. No holiday or break for years and I guess that pushed me and I was bored of that."
