Nikita Arrested, Atul Subhash's Father worried about grandson

Hours after Atul Subhash's estranged wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha and brother Anurag were arrested for allegedly abetting his suicide, the techie's father Pawan Kumar Modi has questioned where Atul's four-year-old son is and said the family was worried about him.

The 34-year-old software engineer died by suicide earlier this week, leaving behind a 26-page note and video accusing his estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family of harassment. Nikita, along with her mother, Nisha Singhania, and brother, Anurag Singhania, were arrested over the weekend by Bengaluru Police.

Nikita Singhania was arrested from Gurugram, while her mother and brother were picked up from Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj for abetting Subhash's suicide, the Bengaluru Police said. They were arrested on Saturday morning, brought to Bengaluru and sent to 14 days judicial custody after being produced before a local court.

Speaking to a news agency, Pawan Kumar Modi thanked the police for arresting Nikita and her family members in the abetment to suicide case. "We don't know where she has kept our grandson. Has he been killed or is he alive? We don't know anything about him. I want my grandson to be with us," he said.

He said he had never met his grandson or held him in his arms; their only interaction was over video calls. Amid the anguish of losing his son, Modi suffered another unpleasant shock when he learned that Nikita's family had filed a fresh case against him in his grandson's name.

Subhash’s brother, Bikas Modi, also voiced fears for the boy and thanked the police for their efforts so far, but stressed that justice is far from complete.
