Indian captain Rohit Sharma has welcomed his newborn baby with an adorable message on his social media handle. He wrote, “Family, the one where we are four”. In his post, Rohit also confirmed the date of the birth of his child, “15.11.2024”.
Back in December 2018, Rohit had become a father for the first time during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, when Samaira was born. Amidst the developments in his personal life, it remains to be seen if Rohit makes himself available for the opening Test against Australia, starting November 22 at the Perth Stadium.
Rohit had not travelled with the Indian team to Perth for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia. It led to a lot of speculation about whether he would be able to lead in the initial Tests.
During the pre-departure press conference, India head coach Gautam Gambhir stated that there's still no official confirmation regarding Rohit's absence. The head coach also stated that if Rohit misses the first match, then vice-captain and star pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be donning the captain's hat.
Tilak, Surya, Sanju congratulate
Team India stars Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Sanju Samson congratulated former T20I skipper Rohit Sharma on becoming a father again. In a conversation on BCCI.tv, the trio spoke about the newest member arriving in the Sharma family. Tilak Varma congratulated Rohit, stating that he would soon come and meet the family on his arrival in India. Echoing similar emotions, Sanju Samson said he was super happy for Rohit and his family.
“Really very happy, Rohit Bhai. We’ve been waiting for this moment. Had it been late, I would have been there with you. But, I’m coming soon to meet you and meet the little one," Tilak said. While Suryakumar Yadav said a new cricketer has arrived for whom he needs to get small-sized pads and gloves.
