Tirupati Hotels Receive Bomb Threats, Police Found Nothing

As many as four hotels in the temple city of Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati received bomb threat alerts via email on Friday.

Bomb squad personnel conducted thorough searches of all four hotels but found no explosives. Police are investigating the source of the threat and have heightened security measures in crowded areas.

This incident comes a day after more than 80 domestic and international flights of various Indian airlines received bomb threats on Thursday. In 11 days, more than 250 flights operated by the Indian carriers have received bomb threats.

Earlier this week, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said the government plans to take legislative actions to deal with instances of bomb threats to airlines, including placing perpetrators of such threats on the no-fly list.
