Akshay Kumar To Sue Paresh Rawal For Exit From Hera Pheri3

Actor Paresh Rawal reportedly demanded Rs 25 crore for his role in Hera Pheri 3, a move that didn’t sit well with Akshay Kumar. The actor has now decided to pursue legal action against Rawal. Sources said that, contrary to reports of creative differences, the real reason behind Rawal’s exit was his hefty fee demand.

A source close to the development said that Rawal demanded close to Rs 25 crore as his fee. He felt that the film would work because of the nostalgia of his character Babu Rao and that he needed to hike the fee. This irked Kumar, who refused to give in to the actor's demand.

The source added that Kumar now plans to sue Paresh Rawal for Rs 25 crore for exiting the film midway. Meanwhile, the shoot remains at a standstill.

Earlier, Paresh Rawal shared a post on X and clarified his exit from the popular franchise. He expressed his respect and faith in the film's director, Priyadarshan, and wrote, "I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I reiterate that there are no creative disagreements with the filmmaker. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Priyadarshan the film director (sic)."

"Paresh displayed a blatant disregard for professional integrity or commercial morality. If he wanted to not do the film, he should have said so before signing the legal contract, accepting the signing amount, and making the producer spend so much money on the shoot," said a source familiar with the legal proceedings in the matter.

Hera Pheri 3 is the sequel to the 2000 hit film Hera Pheri. The second installment was released in 2006. Both films have gained cult status over the years for their comedy and memorable dialogues.

Rawal reunited with director Priyadarshan and actor Akshay Kumar in the horror-comedy 'Bhooth Bangla', which was wrapped today and is scheduled for release in 2026. He is also working on another film titled 'Welcome to the Jungle'.
