Alia added ‘Kapoor’ in her name

It has been over two years since Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married. However, it is possibly the first time that Alia revealed she’s changed her name after the wedding. In the first trailer of The Great Indian Kapil Show season 2, Alia revealed that she has added a Kapoor to her name.

The promo released on Saturday revealed that Alia would be seen in one of the opening episodes with Jigra's team. Alia will be seen sharing the screen with Vedang Raina and Karan Johar in the episode. The trailer hinted that Alia will meet Gutthi, Sunil Grover’s character who was shown to have a romantic arc with Ranbir in Kapil’s show. In the trailer, Alia announced that she is now ‘Alia Bhatt Kapoor’. 

Alia married Ranbir in April 2022. The couple welcomed their daughter later that year. They named her Raha and they’ve been spotted together several times.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia will be seen leading Jigra. The film brings Alia and Vedang together for the first time. They are playing siblings. Alia is not only acting in the film but she is also co-producing the film. There are rumours that the film is a remake of Gumrah.
