Actress Dia Mirza has reacted to the CBI’s closure report and said that the media owes Rhea an apology. Taking to Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborthy and her family? You went on a witch hunt. You caused deep anguish and harassment just for TRPs. Apologise. That’s the very least you can do.

Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, and their family have been officially cleared by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. After years of speculation and intense scrutiny, the agency concluded there was no evidence of foul play in Rajput’s tragic death at the age of 34 in his Mumbai apartment in 2020.

Rhea’s legal counsel, Satish Maneshinde, also weighed in on the development, shedding light on the hardships Rhea and her family endured throughout the investigation. He emphasized that despite no wrongdoing, Rhea spent 27 days in jail before being granted bail.  Maneshinde also strongly opposed the media frenzy around the case. He criticized the false stories spread on social media and news platforms, saying that the lockdown caused more misinformation as people spent more time on their screens with fewer events happening.

Rhea Chakraborty made her first public appearance after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a closure report on March 22, 2025, nearly five years after actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The report concludes that his death was a "suicide" and clears the actress and her family of all allegations. In a viral video, Rhea and her family can be seen visiting Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. While interacting with the paparazzi, she can be heard saying, "Ganpati Bappa Morya."
