Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday resigned from the posts of Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. The former BJP president in Tamil Nadu is likely to contest the Lok Sabha elections from the state, according to sources.
She tendered her resignation in Delhi and sent a letter to President Droupadi Murmu on Monday morning. In a statement, the Telangana Raj Bhavan said, "The Hon'ble Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Dr.Smt.Tamilisai Soundararajan has tendered her resignation with immediate effect. The resignation has been submitted to the Hon'ble President of India."
Meanwhile, the sources told that Soundararajan is likely to be named in the BJP's third list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. She might contest the polls either from North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, or the Chennai South seat.
