Actor Sunny Leone was reportedly denied permission to perform at Kerala University by the vice-chancellor. The event was scheduled to take place on July 5 at the University College of Engineering campus in Thiruvananthapuram.

As per reports by Manorama, Kerala University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal directed the registrar to exclude Sunny Leone's show from the college's program list.

In November last year, a stampede at a concert at Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) in Kerala's Ernakulam district resulted in the deaths of four students and left over 60 injured.

Meanwhile, Sunny has begun shooting for her debut Malayalam film. She shared a video of herself performing the muhurat puja on Instagram. The video featured the actor performing the puja as she began shooting the untitled Malayalam film in an undisclosed location.
