Mumbai Police summons Ajaz Khan, Ullu app owner

Mumbai Police issued a notice to actor Ajaz Khan on Monday in connection with the case involving the streaming of obscene content on his show ‘House Arrest’. The notice directed both Khan and the owner of the Ullu App, on which the show was streamed, to appear before the investigating officer and record their statements in the case.

A case was registered against Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey of 'House Arrest' and other persons from the Ullu app by Mumbai's Amboli Police last week on a VHP worker's complaint. The police have already recorded the statement of the Ullu App manager.

In the video clips of the web show that have gone viral on social media, Khan was seen forcing contestants, including women, to act out intimate situations. He also asked the participants some inappropriate questions.

On May 1, Maharashtra BJP MLC Chitra Wagh demanded an immediate ban on 'House Arrest', alleging its content is obscene and harmful to society, especially to children. She also urged Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw to take strict action against mobile applications that promote such content.

The news comes when Khan is facing a fresh FIR at Mumbai's Charkop police station for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage and offering a role in his show 'House Arrest'. According to the survivor, Khan had called her to offer her the role of a host in his show 'House Arrest'. During the shoot, he first proposed to her and later went to her home, where he allegedly raped her.
