"Jitni Umar Likhi Hai...": Salman Khan on death threats

Speaking out on the continuous death threats, Bollywood star Salman Khan has said his life is in the hands of God. During a promotional event for his upcoming movie Sikandar, Khan was asked about the threats. "Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai (It's all up to God, Allah. What is written is written. That's all).”

After multiple death threats and a firing incident outside his Bandra, Mumbai, residence last year, the actor's security has been significantly increased. Even the balcony of his house now has a large bulletproof glass panel.

However, the actor expressed concern over constantly being surrounded by security. "Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hail (Sometimes I have to walk with so many people that it becomes a problem)," he added.

Salman also revealed that he now only travels between his home and film sets. "I am not worried when I am with the press, but when I am without the press, that cramps my style. Now it's all about Galaxy (home) to shoot and from shoot to Galaxy (home), nothing else," the 59-year-old actor said.

The Bishnoi gang reportedly targeted Salman Khan over his involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, as the animal is revered by the Bishnoi community.

Salman Khan is currently awaiting the release of his mass-actioner Sikandar. The film’s director, AR Murugadoss, previously revealed that the team had to manage 10,000 to 20,000 people on set amid the security threats to Salman. He described working with the superstar as a unique experience, highlighting the challenges of handling massive crowds while ensuring tight security and seamless coordination. Sikandar, scheduled for release on March 30, also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles.

All South films are not good

Asked about the South vs Bollywood battle, Salman Khan said, Technically, they're very advanced, and emotionally they're very evolved. They don't pick up ideas and stories from elsewhere. They conceive their own stories. Having said that, it's not like all the films that they make in the South are good. In Bollywood, you only remember those films that work well at the box office. Wahaan bhi hafte mein 2-3 picture picture banti hai but woh kuch khaas karti nahi hai (2-3 movies are released every week in the South too, but they all don't do too well). The mantra is the same everywhere. If you make good films, they'll work.
