Actor Shekhar Suman and former Congress leader Radhuka Khera, who resigned from the party last week citing harassment by leaders, joined the BJP at its Delhi party headquarters on Tuesday.

Shekhar Suman, who was recently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi', said, "Till yesterday, I did not know that I would be sitting here today because many things in life happen knowingly or unknowingly. I have come here with a very positive thinking and I would like to thank God that he ordered me to come here."

Radhika Khera, who was the national coordinator of the Congress's media department, called the party "anti-Ram" and "anti-Hindu". In her resignation letter to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday, Khera had said she faced opposition in the party for visiting the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

A day later, she alleged in a press conference that Congress leaders from Chhattisgarh misbehaved with her and locked her in a room as she was a "Ram bhakt".

Khera also alleged that during Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra', the Chhattisgarh Congress media chairman, Sushil Anand Shukla, offered her and two other women employees alcohol.

"We were in our room in Korba. I was called repeatedly and asked what kind of alcohol I wanted... the media chairman would knock on my door after getting drunk," she said.

Khera said matters came to a head when she was locked in a room and verbally abused at the headquarters of Chhattisgarh Congress in Raipur by Shukla. "It crossed all limits when at the headquarters of Chhattisgarh Congress in Raipur, Shukla misbehaved with me and verbally abused me," she alleged.
