After Vanga’s outburst, Deepika speaks about choosing collaborators

Actor Deepika Padukone talked about choosing the right kind of people to work with, following filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga's controversial post referring to her rumoured exit from his film 'Spirit'. The actor visited Stockholm for an event where she spoke to Harper's Bazaar about finding the right balance between personal and professional commitments.

She also underscored the importance of 'shutting out the noise' to have a more balanced approach in life. The 39-year-old began by saying, "I just listen to my gut, to what feels right. I think it's easier said than done. But, when you shut out the noise around you, and just listen to your gut, the answers are always there."

Padukone went on to talk about people she likes to surround herself with. The actor shared that she prioritises comfort and compatibility while choosing her collaborators. "I think wanting to collaborate with people I know I'm going to have a good time working with, surrounding myself with my family, friends and being authentic - is how I am able to find my balance," she concluded.

Padukone has not officially spoken on the entire issue, involving Vanga allegedly referring to her as a frustrated cat in his long cryptic note on X.

It was earlier this month when several reports suggested that Padukone took the biggest pay cheque of her career for Vanga's 'Spirit'. However, a report last week mentioned that she had stepped out of the film due to creative differences.

A day later, Vanga announced Triptii Dimri as the 'female lead' of his film. He, on the night of May 26, shared a long note on X, calling out an actor's 'dirty PR work'. He didn't name the actor, but left enough clues to know he was hinting at Padukone.

Padukone, meanwhile, is working with Shah Rukh Khan on 'King'. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also features Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek A Bachchan and Jackie Shroff among others in important roles.
