Denmark celebrated a historic win at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant as 21-year-old Victoria Kjaer Theilvig was crowned the new queen, marking the country’s first-ever victory at the prestigious event.
India’s Rhea Singha also participated in the event. Despite her impressive run in the preliminary rounds, where she showcased her elegance, Singha couldn’t secure a spot among the final 12 contestants.
Kjaer’s stunning performance and poised answers left a mark on the judges, securing her the coveted crown. Mexico’s Maria Fernanda Beltran finished as the runner-up, while Nigeria’s Cnidimma Adetshina took the second runner-up position.
Victoria is a 21-year-old Danish entrepreneur, dancer, and beauty queen. She made history as the first person from Denmark to win the Miss Universe title. Born and raised in Denmark, Victoria also has a degree in business and marketing. Nicknamed the "Human Barbie" for her resemblance to the doll, Victoria became a fan favourite. She was crowned Miss Universe Denmark in September 2024.
The top 12, dominated by Latin American contestants, moved forward to the evening gown round. As the competition heated up in Mexico, five contestants emerged as the frontrunners: Denmark, Mexico, Nigeria, Thailand, and Venezuela.
The finalists were put to the test with a series of random questions designed to gauge their analytical skills and ability to articulate thoughtful responses under pressure.
