Virat Kohli booed by MCG fans

Star India batter Virat Kohli was booed by a group of fans as he walked back to the dressing room after his dismissal. The incident happened on Day 2 of the ongoing Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday. Kohli failed to convert a good start as he was dismissed for 36 (86) by Scott Boland. However, as Kohli was walking back to the dressing room, a group of Australian fans at the MCG, also seemed to have passed on some derrogatory remarks toward the star batter.

However, the 35-year-old was not happy with the same as he turned back to stare down at the fans. He almost confronted the group, only to be stopped by a security offical, who calmed him down before things could escalate.

For the unversed, Kohli was also booed by fans when he walked out to bat after Tea. He has been targetted by local media ever since he landed in Melbourne.

However, Kohli has come under the scanner after he nudged Australia debutant Sam Konstas on Day 1 of the contest. He was labelled "clown" by some Australian media outlets.

Sanjay, Irfan in heated debate

India seemed to have clawed their way back on Day 2 of the 4th Test against Australia as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli scripted a beautiful partnership of 102 runs for the third wicket. However, a horrible mix-up between Jaiswal and Kohli cost the former his wicket. While there remain different theories over who should be blamed for Jaiswal's dismissal, former India cricketers Sanjay Manjrekar and Irfan Pathan got engaged in a heated argument in the post-day show for the broadcaster Star Sports.

Manjrekar felt that Kohli should've responded to Jaiswal's call and taken the single as it was the latter who was running at the danger end. Pathan, however, disagreed, saying Kohli was also at risk of getting run out at the striker's end as the shot hit from Jaiswal was quite hard. The two former cricketers even overlapped each other at times, prompting Manjrekar to even say: "If you don't want to let me talk, it's alright". Manjrekar even lost his cool as Irfan continued to press his opinion. He said: "Irfan Pathan's new interpretation of whether it is a run or not, should be added to the coaching manual."
