Virat’s Gray Beard: Is He Retiring From ODIs Too?

Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20Is on June 29, 2024, after India secured a win by 7 runs over South Africa in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final. The legendary right-handed batter then stepped away from Test cricket on May 12, 2025. Following his retirement from Tests and T20Is, Kohli confirmed that he will continue playing in ODIs for India, but his latest picture from England, where he is currently living with his wife Anushka Sharma and two children – Vamika and Akaay – has left fans worried.

In a picture going viral on the internet, Kohli can be seen posing for a photo, but what caught everyone’s attention was Virat’s grey beard. The former India captain was looking very different, and his new look came as a shock for fans. Because, during an event last month in England, Kohli revealed the reason behind his decision to retire from Test cricket and said, “I just coloured my beard two days ago. You know it’s time when you are colouring your beard every four days."

And the latest picture of him with grey beard has left fans worried, who fear that Kohli might step away from ODIs as well.

The Indian men’s cricket team will not play any international matches in August 2025, whereas in September, the Men in Blue will travel to the United Arab Emirates to take part in the Asia Cup 2025. The premier continental event will be played from September 9 to 28 across two venues in the UAE.
