BJP and Congress faceoff Over 10-Year Performance

The main opposition Congress brought a 'black paper' to counter the Narendra Modi government's 'white paper' on its performance over the past 10 years. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge released the black paper this morning and targeted the Centre.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the document a "kala tikka" (black mark). Prime Minister said that such a move by the Opposition was also welcomed by the central government.

Kharge released the 'Black Paper' against the BJP-led Centre's proposed 'White Paper' earlier in the day, and alleged the Centre has "failed on the economy". Countering the Centre's attack on Congress ideologues Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, Kharge said, "You are ruling today, what have you done to control inflation today?" "The government will never say how many people got jobs. They are releasing MGNREGA funds. They are discriminating against states,"

The grand old party said the 'Black Paper' highlights the failures of the BJP-led Centre such as unemployment, inflation, and farmers' distress, among others.
