Bollywood actor Salman Khan received a fresh threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who said that the actor should either visit a temple and apologise for allegedly killing a black buck or should pay Rs 5 crore.
The Mumbai Police's Traffic Control unit said that they received a message from a person claiming to be gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother on Monday, who said that if Salman Khan didn't do so, he would be killed.
“If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our temple and apologise or pay Rs 5 crore. If he does not do so, we will kill him; our gang is still active,” the message read.
Police said that further investigation is on and a search is being conducted to trace the person who sent the message. The actor's security cover has been increased following the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.
Khan received a similar death threat from an unknown person on October 30, who had demanded a Rs 2 crore ransom from him.
Lawrence Bishnoi has been targetting Salman Khan for a while now. The gangster is seemingly upset with the Bollywood star over the alleged blackbuck poaching case. The actor was accused of poaching blackbucks in a village in Rajasthan, in 1998. Salman was filming for Hum Saath-Saath Hain with Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, and Sonali Bendre. The accusations led to Salman getting entangled in a massive legal row. The case went on for 26 years and Salman was arrested. He was then released on bail, acquitted, convicted and released on bail again.
