India women shuttler reach final for 1st time 

India's women's badminton team created history on Saturday by reaching the final of the Badminton Asia Team Championships for the first time. This is a significant moment for Indian badminton as the women's team has never reached this far in the competition before. They defeated Japan 3-2 in the semi-finals with Ashmita Chaliha, Anmol Kharb, Gayatri Gopichand, and Jolly Treesa winning their matches to secure India's place in the final. 

India started their campaign in Selangor, Malaysia, by stunning top seeds China in the group stage before blanking Hong Kong China 3-0 in the quarter-finals. Then Indian women were assured of their first-ever medal in the continental team championships. Now the win over Japan, India has the chance of going for Gold in the final on Sunday.

India will face Thailand in the final of the women's event at BATC 2024. The Indian team will be looking to create history once again by winning their first-ever gold medal in the competition.
