18 Children Electrocuted in Kota

18 children were injured during a Mahashivratri procession in Kota, Rajasthan. They suffered burn injuries from electric shock and have been admitted to Hospital.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajasthan Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar have arrived at the hospital to meet injured children.

The children, aged 10 to 16, suffered an electric shock from a high-tension power line passing overhead in Sakatoura under Kunhari police station.

"It's a very unfortunate incident. Two children have sustained serious injuries, with one of them having 100 percent burns. A special team has been formed to provide all possible treatment and care to the affected children. Officials have been instructed to investigate if there has been any kind of negligence involved," stated Mr. Nagar.

The incident occurred between 11.30 am and 12 pm today, when the procession was marching through Kalibasti. One of the boys in the procession was carrying a flag on a 22-feet-high iron stick, which accidentally touched the power line overhead- Kota City SP Amrita Duhan gave this information.
