Lifetime Achievement Award to Kamini Kaushal & MD Soni
This year, Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award of Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) 2024 will be giving to Hindi cinema's renowned senior actress Kamini Kaushal. Along with her, cine historian Muralidhar Soni [M D Soni], the author of the Encyclopaedia of Rajasthani cinema, will also be given the Lifetime Achievement Award.
This announcement was made by Hanu Roj, Founder Director of JIFF, in Jaipur on Wednesday. The 16th edition of this internationally renowned film festival will be held from 9 to 13 February at INOX GT Central, Jaipur.
Iconic actress Kamini Kaushal entered films with Chetan Anand's 1946 film 'Neecha Nagar' and had a long and successful innings playing memorable roles as heroine and character actress. She also left a mark with her work in TV serials and puppetry. This award is being given for her remarkable career, her dedication to the art and deep impact on the world of cinema. This 97-year-old actress will be given this honor at her home in Mumbai. In 2011, Kamini Kaushal came to Jaipur to participate in JIFF.
Earlier this award has been given to Asha Parekh, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bachchan, Prakash Jha, Ramesh Prasad, Robin Bhatt, Aparna Sen, Shaji N Karun, Dilip Kumar, Majid Majidi etc.
Cine historian and experienced journalist writer Muralidhar Soni has prepared the first Encyclopaedia of Rajasthani cinema with years of hard work and research. JIFF will honor him with the Lifetime Achievement Award, highlighting his dedication and tireless efforts to create an authentic document of the 80-year journey of Rajasthani cinema and preserve its heritage, and his outstanding literary contribution to the cinema world.
