Measles outbreak in florida school
Clinicians and public health experts said that the state's top health official is providing advice that defies science and puts unvaccinated children at risk of catching one of the most contagious pathogens on the planet as a Florida elementary school struggles to contain a growing measles outbreak.
In a letter to parents at the Fort Lauderdale-area school this week, Florida Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo did not advise parents to vaccinate their children or to keep unvaccinated pupils home from school as a precaution in response to six confirmed instances of measles.
