Demolished Guna man’s house who raped woman, glued her mouth shut

An illegally built house of a man accused of raping and torturing a woman for a month in Madhya Pradesh's Guna, was demolished by officials on Sunday.
Ayan Pathan had allegedly held hostage a 23-year-old woman living in his neighbour and tortured her for a month. The two were in a relationship for some time, police said.
Ayan, who worked as a labourer, allegedly had his eyes on the woman's property, which was under her mother’s name. When she refused to hand over the property, he beat her up, stuffed chilli powder into her eyes and mouth and even sealed her mouth with adhesive.
He had also physically abused the woman several times with the assistance of his kin.
Ayan was arrested after the woman was admitted to a hospital with severe injuries and filed a complaint. Officials found that Ayan's house was built on government land using forged documents, after which it was demolished.
