BJP drops Kirron Kher from Chandigarh
The BJP has dropped the sitting MP from Chandigarh, Kirron Kher, as it released the 10th list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections .
The BJP has dropped the sitting MP from Chandigarh, Kirron Kher, as it released the 10th list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections slated to begin on April 19. Sanjay Tandon, the BJP state president from Chandigarh, has been fielded in place of Kher.
The 10th list comprises nine candidates -- one each in Chandigarh and West Bengal; and seven in Uttar Pradesh.
The candidates contesting in Uttar Pradesh are MLA Jaiveer Singh Thakur (Mainpuri), Vinod Sonkar (Kaushambi), Praveen Patel (Phulpur), Neeraj Tripathi (Prayagraj), Neeraj Shekhar (Ballia), BP Saroj (Machhlishahr) and Paras Nath Rai (Ghazipur).
The party has also fielded SS Ahluwali to contest from West Bengal's Asansol Lok Sabha seat, while Sanjay Tandon is in the fray from Chandigarh.
