Sonu Sood 'supports' Swiggy man who stole shoes, gets trolled

Actor Sonu Sood has expressed his support for the Swiggy Instamart delivery man, who stole a pair of shoes kept outside a flat in Gurugram on April 9. In a post on X, Sood suggested to "be kind" and not take any action against the man. He defended the delivery man and asked people to "buy him a new pair of shoes," instead.

His post prompted a discussion among social media users and most of them trolled the actor for "encouraging stealing". One even said that this was "one of the weirdest posts I have ever read".

A CCTV footage of the incident was shared on X by Rohit Arora, who claimed that the delivery man stole his friend's shoes, which prompted a response from Swiggy’s customer care.

However, reacting to the incident, Sood said, "If Swiggy’s delivery boy stole a pair of shoes while delivering food at someone’s house. Don’t take any action against him. In fact, buy him a new pair of shoes. He might be really in need. Be kind."

Sonu Sood's post went viral with over 8 lakh views, and social media users expressed their "disappointment" with it in the comments section.

However, another section of the internet supported Sonu Sood's stance regarding the incident. One user wrote, "I agree with your opinion. Be kind please. He only stole an item, not money or jewellery. Maybe he needed shoes. No action should be taken against him as he is not a thief. He only took the pair of shoes."
