New Delhi/NCR – 9th February 2024 - The 57th edition of IHGF-DELHI FAIR – SPRING 2024 being held from 6th to 10th February 2024 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida Expressway, is on its final two days with enquiries, order finalising and sample collection, defining the momentum.

Mr. Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH shared, “Shri Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi', the Hon'ble Cabinet Minister of Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI Affairs, Investment Promotion for the Government of Uttar Pradesh, graced the IHGF Delhi Fair today with his presence. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to EPCH for exceptional presentation, showcasing the strengths of the handicraft sector. Interacting with the exhibitors, he expressed admiration for the diverse array of products exhibited. He called the innovative offerings particularly noteworthy as they align impeccably with international trends, emphasizing India's proficiency in manufacturing.”

“Buyers have visited the fair during the first three days and shared their interest in placing orders with their regular and new suppliers at the fair. We have been visited by several old and new buyers. Now, it is very heartening to see next generation of our patrons start their sourcing journeys with IHGF Delhi Fair. The India Expo Centre & Mart is a witness to kindling of new business relations between these young buyers with our handicraft industry’s second and third generation exporters. This way our global family is growing,” said Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML.

Daisy Snow and Scott Hiron, UK represent Ian Snow, who patronised EPCH fairs since its very first editions is happy to be ‘home’ at the fair. She says, “I've immersed myself with my dad in India's home ware and furniture industry, rooted in my English heritage. Working alongside artisans, I've preserved traditional crafts sustainably by encouraging use of recycled materials. Though working globally, I've shared the beauty of Indian craftsmanship while advocating for conscious consumption.” Maria and David, buyers from USA are looking at high-end and premium table linens and quilts to cater to a client base that has deep appreciation for craftsmanship. “We believe in the value of personal connections, which is why we're here to establish relationships with our suppliers and their teams,” they share.

Another buyer from USA, Tim O Hearn, said, “My company is about honest luxury with beauty and quality, craftsmanship and enduring style. This is why I am here for beautiful furnishings. I'm finalizing deals for some bags. There is more to go”. Julia and Daniel, buyers from Germany who are also happy at the fair’s navigation and spread out of displays share, “We deal in handmade Cashmere and seek new Indian suppliers in this category. Impressed by Indian products' quality and hand-woven techniques, we're eager to forge partnerships, enhancing our offerings to our customers.”

Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Vice Chairman II, EPCH, informed, “featuring 14 diverse product categories across 16 large halls at the India Expo Centre & Mart, the fair remains a source of inspiration and excitement for both regular patrons and first-time trade visitors alike. Here, attendees have the opportunity to connect with makers, draw inspiration, and procure creations from a wide spectrum of manufacturers hailing from various regions of India. For many, the fair serves as a vibrant hub of innovation and artistic fusion, showcasing a seamless blend of timeless classics and contemporary influences. From transitional elements to elegantly simple yet unexpectedly striking designs inspired by nature and everyday experiences, the fair is offering a captivating journey through the realms of craftsmanship and creativity.”

Verma, Executive Director, EPCH, added “today’s seminars on ‘Creating Online Presence through Effective Digital Marketing Techniques’ and ‘Emerging Trends of Cyber Security Challenges and Security Services in Digital Era’ had acclaimed senior industry experts share about understanding marketing, digital marketing, and corporate communication as well as measures for data protection, applications of cyber security, top 7 cyber safety actions, cyber security at work, legal and regulatory compliance, etc.”

Mrs Priya Agarwal, Fair President, IHGF Delhi Fair–Spring 2024 further added, “these interactive sessions with illustrated presentations and interactions had several attendees who benefitted from the knowledge and updates. On the other side of the spectrum, Ramp Shows offered practical and user-friendly perceptions to assortments like bags, luggage, resort/lounge wear, shawls & stoles and jewellery in a variety of mediums.”

Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a nodal agency for promotion of exports of handicrafts from the Country and create brand image of magic of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture and fashion jewellery & accessories products in different craft clusters of the Country. The overall Handicraft exports during the year 2022-23 was Rs. 30,019.24 Crores (US $ 3,728.47 Million), as informed by Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.
