Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has confirmed that the explosion at Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe was caused by a bomb. Nine people were injured in the blast at the popular cafe in Bengaluru's Brookefield area.

Siddaramaiah stated that the CCTV footage showed a man placing a bag inside the cafe. Initial reports indicated that an item in a bag exploded at approximately 1 pm, causing black smoke appear in and around the cafe.

The Director General of Police has stated that they are waiting for the forensic team to determine the bag's contents. According to the Chief Minister, the bag did not contain heavy explosives, but it was improvised. The man who placed the bag inside the cafe took a token from the cash counter, and the cashier is currently being questioned, as per Siddaramaiah. The incident resulted in injuries to three staff members and one customer, however, none of them sustained critical injuries, confirmed by the Chief Minister.

While, BJP's MP from Bengaluru South, Tejasvi Surya, shared on  social media platform “X” that he had a conversation with the owner of Rameshwaram Cafe regarding the explosion. According to his post, the cafe owner informed him that the blast was caused by a bag that was left behind by a customer, not by any cylinder explosion.
